We
were so foolish and so much in love;
it
never entered our minds that he wasn't here to
stay,
But
only passing through, passing through to another
day;
To
another land where the sun always shines
and the
streets are paved with gold,
To be
with our Lord and Saviour his hand to always
hold.
He
rode in his white cadillac while he was here,
Now
he rides in golden chariots that our God's will
doth steer
He
doesn't have to worry about people to clean the
palace grounds.
For
now there are caretakers all around.
The
Great Master that answers our prayers whenever
we ask,
Has
seen to it now that he no longer has a task.
He no
longer has to prove himself to his friends or
the crowd
For
he proved himself long ago and he is with the
Master of the clouds.
He is
with the Master that surveys all down here
below;
He is
with him now because he put on such a fantastic
show.
A
show that came from his heart,
A
show for all people though they physically were
worlds apart.
To
millions of people for years he gave himself,
And
he kept giving and giving until there was
nothing left.
He
went to sleep on August 16th, but to only us was
there harm,
For
he woke a little later in the Saviour's arms.
He
traded his white cadillac for a cloud lined with
silver
For
now in the land of paradise, he is the receiver
and not the giver;
But
then this is not entirely true, not really,
For
to say he is not still giving would be silly,
Because every day when his records are played,
We
know he is not really gone, for in many ways he
has stayed.
If
not in person, in spirit, and that's clear to
see,
We
will never be without our ELVIS PRESLEY.
There
were preachers when he was alive,
who
did all they could to break his spirit,
But
these were not really men of God,
each
one was nothing more than a - hypocrite.
We
know that to say everyone loved him just isn't
so.
But
these few people were that way because ELVIS,
they
didn't really know.
There
was a minister who made the statement
that
he was glad ELVIS was dead,
But
if he were a true man of God, these words he
would never have said.
The
Bible says "Judge not, lest ye be judged"
Believe me, there are many left whose own names
they have smudged,
By
remarks they made about a man that was sent by
God,
To
bring joy, happiness and peace with his voice
and not with a rod.
