How old were you when his star first lit the sky?

What were you doing the day he had to die?

What did you think the day he wed?

How did you feel when told he was dead?

Were you proud when the child came to be?

Did you ever wonder why he named her Lisa Marie?

Does your sorrow go beyond yourself to her as well?

Do you remember she is also going through hell?

Do you remember it was her Dad that went away?

Do you know the pain she feels knowing she won’t see him today?

How do you feel toward Priscilla, at one time his wife?

Is it hard to realize that at one time she was his life?

Do you think he would have wed Ginger in December?

Or is this something you would rather not remember?

And Vernon, bless him, he was a great dad.

Do you realize all the things he did for his lad?

Do you feel his loss, his pain, his emptiness?

Do you think he will ever again find happiness?

And J.D., who loved him like a brother,

How does he feel? Will he search for another?

Here was one almost as close as his skin;

His name was Charlie and he was no kin,

But a better friend he could not have found.

Do you know how lonesome he must be

Continually searching for a face he can’t see?

There is one more you must consider---her name is Minnie,

And she was his beloved Granny.

Yes, we can answer these and many, many more,

But, after all, who is keeping score?

Last week, Joan was diagnosed with breast cancer.
